Histopathology is the microscopic assessment of tissue sections referred as biopsy or surgical specimen to ascertain or establish the histopathological diagnosis.

Process:

It is a very long process which needs different basic steps of processing of the specimen like tissue fixation and decalcification, grossing or tissue sections, processing in different chemicals, embedding, block preparations, microtome cutting of blocks, preparation of slides, staining (mostly by H&E stain) then mounting by DPX finally followed by microscopic examination by the Histopathologist.
